We started because the road to Rasuwa was gone by lunchtime.

Sahayog Nepal is a volunteer relief collective formed in Kathmandu on 26 August 2026, hours after a glacier collapse north of Langtang Lirung sent a debris flood down the Lhende–Bhotekoshi–Trishuli corridor.

Our founding circle includes emergency doctors who worked the 2015 earthquake, former Nepal Army logisticians, Langtang and Tamang heritage guides, and warehouse organisers from the 2021 and 2025 monsoon responses. We are registering as a disaster-response NGO under the Associations Registration Act; until papers complete, funds are held in a designated relief account and disbursed against itemised chits.

We work under the three-month disaster-zone declaration issued by the Council of Ministers. We take tasking from NDRRMA and district disaster committees. We do not run a parallel command.

Principles

Dignity first. No photographs of the dead. No close-ups of grieving children for fundraising.

Local first. Porters, cooks and translators from Rasuwa and Nuwakot are paid, not “volunteered.”

Say what is illustrated. This website mixes real disaster records with AI images of our work. Every frame is labelled. We will not pretend a generated picture is a survivor.

Tell the numbers straight. Death and missing counts here match public briefings and will be revised as police revise them.
